East Quoddy Lighthouse, also known to everyone as the "Head Harbour Lightstation," is claimed to be the most photographed in the world. It is a must-see on Campobello Island and can only be reached at low tide. The journey to the lighthouse is an experience in itself!
The tower's wooden, shingle-clad exterior is painted white with a distinctive red cross. The 51' octagonal structure is tapered and was built in 1829 using heavy timber; the original lantern was replaced by the current cast iron model in 1887.
