WWII Liberty ship, SS James Longstreet, was intentionally grounded in April 1945 3.5 nautical miles off the coast of Eastham/Orleans in Cape Cod Bay. It was used for bombing practice by the Air Force and Navy until 1970. Today, there are no signs of the ship left above water as it finally disappeared below the surface in the late 90s.
This replica fits nicely on your desk, windowsill, mantle, nightstand, bookshelf, or anywhere you think you'll catch a glimpse!
We handcraft this replica on 3/4" thick wood with colorful details on the front and its story on the back in our Wooster, Ohio workshop.
See Casper, our black cat mascot? Luckily he found his way home before the ship disappeared underwater!
