On August 6, 1777, British, Loyalist, and Mohawk troops ambushed the American & Oneida troops (on their way to Fort Stanwix) in a ravine west of Oriskany Creek. Considered one of the bloodiest battles of the revolution, hand-to-hand combat resulted in heavy losses, but also caused the British to retreat.
We handcraft this monument in 3/4" thick wood with a short history on the back. Look closely, and you'll find Casper, our black cat mascot, tucked in behind the fence.
