He was inspired to write a poem entitled, “The Defense of Fort McHenry”. Within a month, a local music store owner published the poem as a song entitled, “The Star-Spangled Banner”.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1925 this fort was declared a National Park, with restoration to its mid-1800s appearance completed in 1933.
