4 Clever Ways to Display Your Cat’s Meow Collection

Your Cat’s Meows hold memories of favorite places, special seasons, and the places you call home. Finding a way to display them is part of the fun!

Whether you’re arranging your first few pieces or making room for a longtime collection, a little inspiration from fellow collectors can go a long way. Our Facebook neighbors Cynthia, Erin, Angel, and Christopher shared four clever ways they’ve made their Cat’s Meows feel right at home.

1. Turn an unused nook into a village: Meet Cynthia

Cynthia had a custom wood shelving unit made to fit an unused nook in her home. Now that once-overlooked space is a place to enjoy her vintage Christmas collections every day.

The shelves are just deep enough to group houses, with smaller accessories arranged in front to add depth. It’s a simple reminder that you don’t need a large room to give a collection a place of its own.

Try this idea: Look for a narrow wall or unused nook where shallow shelves could turn an empty space into a display full of memories.

2. Look up for extra display space: Meet Erin and Kay

Erin helped her mother, Kay, bring her Cat’s Meow collection into view so she could share it with family and friends. Their clever solution? Transform the empty space above three windows into a bustling village scene.

Using a painted 1×4 board with a 1½-inch back ledge, they arranged the collection in two rows, creating a village of memories to enjoy every day.

Try this idea: Think beyond eye-level shelves. The space above a window or doorway may be just the spot for a village, with shelving securely installed and deep enough to support your pieces. Bonus: you don't need to dust them!

3. Give each piece its own little home: Meet Angel

Angel’s custom-built, house-shaped shelf is just the cat’s pajamas! Individual compartments give her buildings room to show-off, while the roofline adds another spot to arrange a charming street scene.

When she shared her photo, Angel told us, “I started to collect Cat’s Meow Village pieces over 30 years ago! So happy to have found this page.”

What a wonderful way to celebrate decades of collecting.

Try this idea: A cubby-style shelf can help you highlight individual favorites while keeping a larger collection together.

4. Build a display around a place you love: Meet Christopher

Christopher filled his three-shelf display with memories of home: Florida. From familiar buildings to lighthouses and palm trees, his arrangement brings those places together in one personal collection. Do you recognize any of his buildings?

He even commissioned us to re-create a few hometown pieces that had been retired for many years. If there’s a retired design you’ve been hoping to find, get in touch to ask about re-creation options and pricing.

Try this idea: Choose a theme that means something to you, such as your home state, a favorite vacation, or the town where you grew up. Let your memories guide your display.

What story will your display tell?

A cozy nook, a window ledge, a custom shelf, or a tribute to home: there’s no single right way to display your Cat’s Meows. The best arrangement is one that keeps your memories in view and makes you smile.

A big thank-you to Cynthia, Erin, Kay, Angel, and Christopher for sharing their creativity with our Cat’s Meow community!
