This Watchtower, located in the Desert View area on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, was designed by Mary Colter, and built in 1932 using local rocks and reused lumber so that it appears to grow from the ground.
As the fourth most visited National Park in 2025, 4.43 million people visited the Grand Canyon National Park.
You can view the canyon from the View Room inside the tower. You can also take tours from this point, along with visiting the giftshop and experiencing cultural demonstrations. The Watchtower is a National Historic Landmark.
We handcraft this replica in 3/4" thick wood in our Wooster, Ohio workshop.
