Thomas Point Lighthouse, perched on seven spidery legs, went into service on November 27, 1875.  It replaced a light that was stationed onshore.  The 1 1/2 story hexagonal building, a screwpile cottate structure and a fine example of its type, is anchored to the bottom by four-foot screw pilings.  It is placed directly over the shoals in eight feet of water, surrounded by riprap.

Thomas Point is the last light to be automated on the Chesapeake Bay and still has an active light and fog signal.

Concerns for its preservation brought it a National Register of Historic Places listing in 1975 and National Historic Landmark status in 1999.

Look for our black cat, Casper, perched on the lighthouse railing, feline fine being lulled to sleep by the waves. Sometimes you just have to take a catnap! He's our official mascot, which means you'll possess an authentic Cat's Meow.

This keepsake is hand-crafted from ¾” thick wood by our crew in Wooster, Ohio, and has a detailed front design and a short description on the back. You can set it neatly on a shelf, desk or narrow ledge such as window, door trim, or wainscoting. Group it with other Cat’s Meows to create your own memory of the special places you have visited.
