This Queen-Anne style house, originally built in 1883, served as the boardinghouse where North Carolina’s most famous author, Thomas Wolfe, spent his formative years. In Wolfe’s novel Look Homeward, Angel, the house became immortalized as “Dixieland,” as it served as the backdrop for many of the scenes in the novel. Wolfe spent 10 years here after the house was purchased by his mother, Julia, in 1906.

We handcraft this house on 3/4" thick wood in our Ohio workshop.

See Casper? He's our black cat mascot, sitting on the wall waiting to greet those who come for a visit.
