If you follow the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers to where they meet, you will find yourself in West Virginia at the beautiful Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
In 1848, the armory built a fire engine and guard house described as "An engine and guard house, 35 1/2 x 24 feet, one story brick, covered with slate, and having copper gutters and down spouts, has been constructed, and is now occupied." It became the building that John Brown and his followers barricaded themselves in during the final days of their raid.
You can find Casper, our black cat mascot, keeping watch from the tower, waiting for intruders.
This souvenir handcrafted in 3/4" thick wood is perfect to rest on your desk to remind you of your beautiful trip to where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers meet.
