This Craighill Channel Upper Rear Lighthouse was built in 1885 as part of two lighthouses that mark the Craighill Cutoff Channel.
Its unique look is an iron-covered wooden square shaft surrounded by an iron pyramid skeleton tower. It's surrounded by private property and continues as an active lighthouse today, used by ships and boaters to navigate up into the Patapsco River to Baltimore.
