Captain Richard Derby built this beautiful brick home in 1762 as a wedding present for his son Elias Hasket and bride Elizabeth Crowninshield Derby.
Captain Henry Prince bought this house in 1796 and built his West India Goods Store next door.
Today, the Derby House is part of the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.
