Sunbonnet Sue was brought to life by Bertha Corbett in the early 1900s. Together Ms. Corbett and Eulalie Grover created a collection of Children’s primers that were read by school children across America. Soon chunky little bonneted girl started appearing in quilt designs everywhere.
This pattern is inspired from a childhood quilt owned by Danette, our "head shipper" here at Cat's Meow. It was created in 1962 by her Grandma Aleksich.
This quilt cottage is handcrafted in the USA from 3/4" thick wood with a colorful rendition of the quilt on the front of the cottage and a description printed on the back. It sets neatly on a mantle, shelf or cabinet, or perch it on the molding above your door or window. Add it to other Cat's Meow pieces to create your own little village.
