Around 1850 London needed a bridge at the east end to relieve the traffic. A proposal was made for a drawbridge which would relive the traffic flow and, when needed, allow shipping traffic to pass. A high-level walkway provided a means for pedestrians to cross when the main bridge was raised. Today you can walk across the high-level glass floor to get a spectacular view of London life from 138 feet above the Thames River.
This ¾" thick handcrafted wooden replica of the Tower Bridge is designed and painted to reflect its historical features.
